Need Help With Your Picture Book Manuscripts?

With over 15 years of experience, I’ve done more than 1,300 critiques, helping many ambitious authors achieve their writing and publication goals.

Here’s what you can expect from my critiques:

I’ll review your overall story and give you feedback on the following areas:

  • Is the title engaging?
  • Is the plot working?
  • Does it include a strong hook?
  • Is the word count appropriate? (And if not, what changes could help?)
  • Is the ending satisfying?

I’ll also provide you with all of these services that apply for your particular project:

  • I will make suggestions about word choice and changes and check for overall grammar
  • I will point out that is working well and what isn’t and explain why
  • For rhyme, I will do a line-by-line review of your rhythm and rhyme schemes and offer advice
  • I will summarize your project and offer helpful  tips and suggestions for what’s next

When I receive your critique request, I’ll acknowledge receipt and give you a time frame for its return.  I’ll always do my best to complete ALL critiques within two weeks of receipt.  Quicker turn-around times (to accommodate submission windows or contest deadlines) may be possible upon request.  However, other obligations or scheduled engagements may occasionally require a slightly longer timeframe, too.
